Engineers (PDH)

Description: http://trussteel.com/images/engineers-seal-black-transp-160p-120x120.pngWe also have several presentations, specially developed for engineers, in which we delve much deeper into the engineering background and current standards that control the design of Cold-Formed Steel trusses. These presentations can also be delivered in person or via webinar. Each participant in these webinars will receive a certificate of completion.  For more information email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. All Building Professionals (Certificates)

The industry-standard reference book, Truss Design Manual, is available to all Building Professionals. This 80-page reference could be considered a "Steel Truss 101" course. Click the icon for more information on this resource.

Courses:

Introduction to Cold-Formed Steel Truss Systems (TS10AP) (Delivered in-person or via webinar)

An overview of the various types of cold-formed steel (CFS) truss systems, their physical and structural characteristics, applications, and how to specify these systems. (1.5LU:HSW)  The target Audience is architects, engineers, specifiers and other design professionals in the building market.  The in-person delivered presentation is delivered via instructor-led presentation, industry literature and physical samples. The webinar version is delivered via the internet.  Sign up here  In each presentation, the CES facilitator presents information on the nature and types of CFS trusses, including basic terminology and applications.  Physical samples are used to demonstrate truss terminology (in the in-person version only).

Learning Objectives

(1) Identify the different types of CFS truss systems,

(2) Understand the product abilities and limitations of various CFS truss systems, and

(3) Specify a pre- engineered CFS truss system.

Sustainable Design in CFS Structural Components (TS13AP) (Delivered in-person or via webinar)

CFS Truss Systems utilize the flexibility and eco-friendly characteristics of Cold-Formed Steel, the structural efficiency of truss engineering and the economical and lean benefits of prefabrication

Learning Objectives

(1) Introduce Sustainable design as a process with conceptual goals.  Atendees should understand the sustainable design process and concepts,

(2) Recycling and the steel industry.  Explain how the steel industry recycles and the sustainable impact of recycling

(3) Components and value engineering.  Explain the benefits of the sustainability at the hands of component design and codes.

(4) Prefabrication and component design. Explain how prefabrication affects component fabrication and delivery.

Cost: None
